I am writing to share my deeply troubling experience with Wallin & Klarich, which I believe reflects serious ethical violations, fraudulent billing practices, and a complete failure of legal representation. I retained this firm under a flat-fee agreement of $15,000 with the expectation of competent, timely legal services. What I received was the opposite.
Over the course of several months, the firm failed to take any meaningful action on my case. No court dates were scheduled, over 200 calls and emails were ignored, and my key witness was never contacted. Their assigned attorney, Jonathan Lynn, did not respond to a single one of my 27 emails or 30+ phone calls over a span of seven months. I was forced to fire him due to complete lack of communication, yet the firm provided no acknowledgment or explanation.
Despite our flat-fee agreement, I was issued a fraudulent and unjustified additional bill for $23,000, bringing the total to $38,000. This included vague and repetitive charges such as “email reviews” and internal discussions that had no impact on my case.
Even more disturbing, when I posted truthful reviews online, Wallin & Klarich threatened to disclose privileged information about my case unless I removed them—an appalling violation of attorney-client privilege and a coercive attempt to silence criticism.
To this day, they have refused to return my full case file despite my formal request, further obstructing my ability to move forward legally.
I have filed BBB Complaint #22891524, which remains unresolved due to Wallin & Klarich’s failure to respond in the allotted timeframe. I have also initiated steps toward filing a legal malpractice lawsuit.
I urge anyone considering this firm to proceed with extreme caution. Based on my experience, I believe Wallin & Klarich prioritizes profit over ethics, silencing clients over resolving complaints, and billing over basic legal responsibility. This firm should be held accountable for their conduct.
