Review 5/27/2009

My elderly father had a problem with his plumbing on 5/20/09. Our regular plumber was not available so he found this company in the yellow pages. They gave my dad a few options on what to do to clear the line and most were too expensive for someone on a fixed income. They suggested a procedure that uses a high powered water line to clear the drain that cost $600 but was guaranteed for a year. According to what they said to my father, they would come back every time there was a problem, no charge. Unfortunately, on the paperwork, all it says is that it is under warranty for one year. It does not give specifics.
Starting 5/21/2009, the line has backed up every day. A neighbor came over to help my dad at might night on Thursday and left him with a 75' snake to run through the drain. My father called them that night, left a message. On Friday they had not returned the message so he called again. He finally got a call back Saturday and they suggested he run a camera for $495 to see what the problem is, however my father stated he could not afford that amount after paying $600. The person he talked to said he would see if he could get his boss to do it for free, but that someone would be out for sure on Monday.
Here it is Thursday, my elderly mother and father have had to run the snake themselves every day since Thursday. And still no call or visit from GoGo Rooter. My husband finally called this morning to speak to the owner who basically said that even though there's a one year warranty, the law says they only have to come out twice to fix the problem. He also said that since my dad did not take his other suggestions, he can't guarantee that the work will hold for a year. He basically told us to 'read the fine print' in the back of the paperwork, and ignore what his technician wrote and he signed off on, which says 1-year warranty on sewer line.
He was rude on the phone to my husband, when my husband suggested that he come to review the work, he laughed and said I'm the owner, do you really think I do plumbing?? My husband asked then why is your signature on this paperwork, he said I review the paperwork and sign off on it when they bring it back to the shop. How can any good business owner sign off on work they cannot personally verify??
They said they are sending someone over today. That remains to be seen, but I am so upset by the treatment my parent's are receiving and can not believe that this person runs his business this way. I WILL NEVER USE THEM OR RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE. In fact, I will tell everyone I know to not use them. AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE!
