Update: Rick finally came back to finish the job after reading my negative reviews about him. A couple of weeks later, I received a check to pay for the Verizon repair and an invoice for all of the work done which was originally agreed upon for $575.. Back in August, when he had put in the tub, and it came time to write out the check, he charged me $669. He said that he had purchased extra parts and would give me the receipts, he never has. I was alone at home and didn't feel comfortable questioning him about it, so I paid it even though I didn't feel it was right. Now that I have the invoice to prove his dishonesty and that he did indeed overcharge me, I intend to file complaints. I already notified him and requested a check for the difference, I have emailed him, and given him ample time to send it and he has not done so.
Again, please, do not hire this guy, you are asking for trouble if you do.
***10/1/11 Review: WARNING: DO NOT TRUST THIS PLUMBER! Please do not make the mistake I did and hire him. If you already did hire him, do not pay him until he finishes the complete job. I hired him to take the bathtub out and put a new one in, along with the showerhead, faucets etc. First of all he seems nice-don't be deceived. He is not punctual. He came in demo'd the heck out of my bathroom, he brought a helper, left him to do the work alone. He left other guy to work for the next 2 days. Then he just didn't show up one day. When he did show up he told me about miscellaneous charges he said he'd give me the receipt for but never did. Also, the 'helper' had gone under the house to work, afterwards, when we tried to use our home phone-there was no line. I called & asked the helper what he'd done & he denied touching them. We were without a phone line for about a month! I called Rick, he said to call Verizon & he'd reimburse. Mmmhmm, right! I was having someone else come in to do the tile, & Rick was supposed to come back to finish up. He never did. I called him and he said he'd be here, he never showed, then he called me back saying his son was sick & he'd be here next day. No show. Then he just quit calling. I called, no answer. My husband called him from a different phone & he picked it up with another story of why he couldn't come. Then he quit answering all together. It's ridiculous that he doesn't have the common courtesy to call, & that he just doesn't show up. I regret paying him the total amount, which, by the way kept increasing. The tub now makes scraping noises when you stand in it which makes you feel like you're going to fall through the floor. The pipe he put in for the faucet is too large and the faucet doesn't fit now. If you are a victim of this guy, file complaints with the BBB & Consumer Affairs, do what you can to fight back against rip-offs.
