Hired contractor Bruce Snapper on or about 09-22-09 for a residential remodel. Contractor hired Virgen Plumbing to complete the plumbing work. Virgen incorrectly used a four inch clean out fitting and connected it to the horizontal sewage line in the crawl space underneath the house. They then took a two inch vertical drain line and positioned it above the four inch clean out and failed to connect them. The sewage would simply fall from the two inch line into the four inch line like a water fall, allowing sewer gas to fill the crawl space under the house which permeated into the house. They then cut the sewage line underneath the house and capped it just inches from the clean out protruding through the foundation, leaving no clean out access. They left the old clean out in place so that it would appear there was still acess to the sewer line. If I placed a snake into the clean out it would simply go under the house and not into the sewer line. The old AC condensation drain line had been connected to the washer drain. When they moved the washer and dryer drain lines they cut the AC drain line and left it in the wall to drain into the wall. Only discovered as the paint began peeling and water was running onto the floors and down the foundation. Fired the contractor, but the plumbing had already been signed off by the city inspector. I then hired a real plumber, R.J. Collins of Arcadia, Ca. who was so shocked they took video of the work performed by Virgen. Jim Larsh. Monrovia.
